The Welly Walk – Hawkstone Park

16th October 2011 – In aid of Severn Hospice

This was a one off fundraising walk in the grounds of  Hawkstone Park and Follies, sponsored by Wiseman Dairies which raised £17K for the hospice. The park has several waymarked routes ranging from 1,5 km to one of 6.8km which can be walked at any time when the park is open. The longer distance takes in all of the quirky features of the park including caves, a tower, steps and bridges.

Described on their website as: The Follies is a fantasy land of cliffs, crags, caves, deep woods and a series of extraordinary monuments built more than 200 years ago. After years of neglect, the magical landscape was lovingly restored and reopened in 1993.

Well worth a visit and a wander!
